“It represents all the possibilities and things I can do. It represents me.” ~Tosha, Owner/Stylist
Known by her friends as Tot, Tosha Holmes desired to be a hairstylist at an early age. Having had what she recalls were wonderful hair experiences, she loved to see how happy clients were when they left the salon. She also loved that her hairstylists were knowledgable and seemed to be able to fix any hair problem. Tosha initially had the opportunity to go into cosmetology after completing middle school, but it wasn’t time. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in business from Howard University, in Washington, D.C. and working as an insurance agent, the desire to do hair reignited.
Completing her certification from Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology in North Augusta, SC, and becoming a licensed cosmetologist, Tosha started in a private salon in Augusta, Ga, as a braider and natural hair care specialist. Although an introvert at heart and working in customer service since the age of 16, she also began teaching cosmetology. During this time, working in both places, Tosha was able to learn how to run a salon, manage more than 20 people at a time, and facilitate classes. Learning new things was always promoted between job and family, and as she began accumulating more certifications in the subjects of trichology, wig making, and braiding to name a few, she decided it was time to step out on her own.
After five years, A Taste of T Salon (atotsalon) was born. It represents everything she is: a professional, learner, educator, listener, friend. She loves providing the ultimate salon experience for her customers by educating them on hair care and helping them achieve their hair goals.
